March 25, 2008 - Fontbonne University sophomore Josh Burlison and freshman David Willey recently earned Player of the Week honors from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).

Burlison, a second baseman, was named the SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 17-23. Burlison went 17 for 27 for the week for a .630 batting average. He recorded four doubles, eight RBI's and scored 10 runs. He also went 5-6 in stolen base attempts and only struck out twice.

Willey, a pitcher, earned SLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors. He pitched a complete game shutout in his first conference start versus MacMurray College. Willey allowed just four hits, walked just one and struck out eight batters to lead the Griffins to a 5-0 victory. Willey is now 2-0 on the season.
