Feb. 27, 2008 - The Fontbonne University women's basketball team beat Greenville College last night 69-62 to earn a second place finish in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). The victory gave the Griffins an overall record of 16-9 and a SLIAC record of 13-3.

On senior night, Fontbonne got big efforts from seniors Heather McAllister and Kristin Chamberlain. McAllister led the Griffins with 22 points and eight rebounds while Chamberlain scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. As a team, Fontbonne outrebounded Greenville 48-36.

Fontbonne now prepares for the SLIAC Post-Season Tournament. Fontbonne will play Greenville College on Friday (Feb. 29) night at 6:00 p.m. at Maryville University in one semi-final while #1 seed Maryville plays #4 seed Blackburn College at 8:00 p.m. The championship game is set for Saturday (March 1) at 8:00 p.m. at Maryville University.
