Feb. 27, 2008 - The Fontbonne University men's basketball team beat Greenville College last night 91-78 and earned the #3 seed in the upcoming SLIAC Post-Season Tournament. The victory improved the Griffins overall record to 19-6 and 12-4 in the SLIAC. The 19 wins in the most in the program since the 1994-95 season.

Fontbonne was led by junior forward Brian Fogerty who scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Sophomore guard Josh Branch scored 22 points while going 10-13 from the free throw line. Fontbonne shot 57 percent from the field, 48 percent from behind the arc and 77 percent from the free throw line. The Griffins also outrebounded Greenville 36-21.

Fontbonne will now play Westminster College in the semi-final of the SLIAC Post-Season Tournament on Thursday (Feb. 28) night at 6:00 pm at Webster University. Webster (the #1 seed) will play Maryville University (the #4 seed) in the other semi-final at 8:00 pm. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 pm at Webster.
