Fontbonne finishes the season with a win

April 20, 2008 - The Fontbonne University women's lacrosse team spilt a pair of games this weekend to conclude their season with a 6-5 overall record.

On Friday, Fontbonne fell to St. Vincent 15-7. In that game, St. Vincent took control of the game early as they scored 8 of the first 10 goals. Fontbonne trailed 8-3 going into halftime. The Griffins couldn't get any closer in the second half as Fontbonne was outshot 32-15 in the game. Fontbonne freshman goalie Claire Kallio made 10 saves while Danielle Donze, Emily Spalding and Kaite Radeackar scored two goals apiece. Emily Schallenberg tallied one goal for the Griffins.

On Saturday, Fontbonne rebounded with a much stronger defensive effort against Waynesburg. Fontbonne held Waynesburg to just 13 shots in the game as they won 17-2. The Griffins were led by Emily Schallenberg who scored four goals and added one assist. Shelby Leistler recorded three goals while Marisa Williams, Emily Spalding, Danielle Donze and Katie Radeackar scored two goals apiece. Nicole Krodinger and Eleni Madison scored a goal each. Claire Kallio recorded six saves in goal for Fontbonne to get the win.
