Jan. 28, 2008 - The Fontbonne University women's basketball team held MacMurray College to 23 percent shooting from the field Saturday (Jan. 26th) en route to a 76-41 win. The victory improved the Griffins overall record to 8-8 and 6-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). Fontbonne held MacMurray to 21 percent shooting in the first half and 25 percent in the second half. The Griffins caused 24 Highlander turnovers in the game. The Griffins were led by senior guard Heather McAllister with 14 points while senior forward Michelle Reale scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Fontbonne had 12 different players score in the game. Fontbonne returns to the court Wednesday night when they travel to Greenville, Illinois for an important conference game against Greenville College. Fontbonne is currently one game out of second place in the SLIAC, a position held by Greenville with a 7-1 conference record. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
