Fontbonne wins; climbs to .500

April 21, 2008- The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team dominated Mount St. Joseph yesterday (April 20) from the opening whistle to level their overall season record to 7-7. The Griffins knocked off Mount St. Joseph 14-5.

Fontbonne scored the game's first four goals and 10 of the first 11. The Griffins took a 10-1 lead into halftime. Fontbonne picked up right where they left off in the third quarter scoring the first goal to increase their lead to 11-1. The teams traded goals the remainder of the way to end up at a 14-5 final.

Fontbonne was led by junior Patrick Zeis who set a school record for most goals in a game with six. He also added four assists for 10 points, also a new school record. Tim Ganey, Josh Albrecht and Kendall Eckles scored two goals apiece for Fontbonne while Jaron Klopstein and Brooks McGee tallied on apiece. Austen Doster recorded 14 saves in goal for Fontbonne and Ray Medalla won 6 of his 10 faceoffs.

Fontbonne's final game of the season is Tuesday (April 22) as they play Dension University at 4:00 pm.
