March 3, 2008 - The Fontbonne Unviersity women's basketball season came to an end this weekend as the Griffins lost in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Post-Season Tournament Championship game to Maryville University 83-72. Fontbonne ended the season 17-10 overall and 13-3 in the SLIAC. Fontbonne finished in second place in the SLIAC.

After falling behind by 16 points at halftime Fontbonne rallied to get within six points of the Saints in the second half. The Griffins were led by senior Heather McAllister who tallied 18 points. Senior Kristin Chamberlain scored 12 points while junior Lauren Crain recorded 14 points.
