Griffins fall to Hoosiers

March 3, 2008 - The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team dropped their game this weekend agaisnt Indiana University 8-5. The game will not count toward the Griffins' NCAA record as Indiana is a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA).

Fontbonne jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and held that advantage heading into the second quarter. The Griffins took a 4-1 into halftime but defensive breakdowns and penalities allowed Indiana to get back into the game in the second half. Indiana took advantage of the Griffins second half mistakes to hold onto a 8-5 win.

Fontbonne was led by attackman Patrick Zeis who tallied two goals and one assist. Kendall Eckles, Brady O'Rourke, and Chris Whitehead also recorded goals for the Griffins. Sophomores Brooks McGee and Jaron Klopstein each tallied an assist in the game.

Fontbonne returns to action on Saturday (March 8th) against another MCLA opponent, University of Missouri. The game will be played at Lindenwood University at 11:00 a.m.
