April 14, 2008 - The Fontbonne University women's lacrosse team won a pair of games over the weekend to improve their overall record to 5-4. This is the first time in the program's short history the Griffins record has been above .500. Fontbonne beat Adrian College on Saturday 12-9 and Tri-State University 10-5 on Sunday. For the weekend, Fontbonne was led by Emily Spalding who scored a team-high seven goals. She scored three against Adrian and four against Tri-State. Emily Schallenberg and Shelby Leistler scored five goals each on the weekend while Katie Radeackar scored three. Radeackar leads the team with 35 goals in nine games. Defensively freshman goalie Claire Kallio picked up both wins this weekend to increase her total to five. She tallied 17 saves for the weekend with 13 coming against Adrian. Bridgette Riley and Kasey Thompson played well in front of Kallio to perserve the two victories. Fontbonne returns to action Tuesday night when they host Missouri Baptist at 7:30 pm at Gay Field in Clayton.
