April 11, 2008 - Competing in the Washington University Select Meet, the Fontbonne University track and field team was once again led by fast emerging freshman sensation Everett Jackson (University City, MO). Running only his second metric mile his career, Jackson sprinted to a blazing time of 4:13. 6 to win a very tightly contested race. Jackson led the race early and then showed a tremendous finishing kick for the last 300 meters of the race as he went from fourth place to first. The women's team also had several outstanding performances led by freshman Tricia Morris (Florissant, MO) who ran the 400 meters for the first time in her career. Morris turned in a time of 1:16.2 to finish in seventh place. Morris also turned in a good 1,500 performance, running the metric mile in a time of 5:44. Sophomore Alyssa Brocco (St. Louis, MO) continued her improvement in the 400 meters, running a personal best time of 65.19. Freshman Marcey Cox (Herculaneum, MO) placed in 7th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:43. 7 The track and field team will compete this coming Saturday at Illinios College in Jacksonville, Illinois.
