Dec. 10, 2008 - The Fontbonne University women's basketball team got 20 points from junior forward Amber Karnes to help beat Eureka College 68-52 last night and improve their record to 4-7 overall and 3-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).

Fontbonne raced out to an 11 point first half lead as the Griffins forced Eureka into 16 first half turnovers. Fontbonne connected on 40 percent of their first half field goal attempts and took a 36-25 led into halftime. In the second half, Karnes paced the Griffins scoring 14 points while senior Heather McAllister pitched in 10. McAllister finished the game with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Fontbonne returns to the court on Saturday as they host Principia College at 3:00 p.m.
