March 19, 2008 - The Fontbonne University Women's Lacrosse team earned their first-ever NCAA win today (March 19) as they beat the Univ. of Dallas-Texas 17-3. The victory improved the Griffins record to 1-3. After suffering through two losses to begin their Spring Break trip to the great northwest, Fontbonne raced out to a 11-0 halftime lead over Univ. of Dallas. The Griffins were led by junior Katie Radeackar who scored five goals and freshman Marisa Williams who pitched in three goals. Fontbonne freshman goalie Claire Kallio allowed a season-low three goals. Fontbonne is in its second year as a NCAA sanctioned lacrosse program. Last year the Griffins went winless against NCAA opponents but beat NAIA opponent Missouri Baptist University. The Griffins return to the field in McMinnville, Oregon to play Linfield College.
