Academic Advising

• Students who have expressed an interest in a particular major are assigned to advisors who are faculty members within the department in which the major is housed.
• Undecided students are advised by Elizabeth Fogt, as well as by other academic staff.
• Unclassified students are advised by Elizabeth Fogt except for students pursuing a specific program (e.g. certification) or an area of interest that may lead to becoming a degree seeking student. In this case they may be advised by a faculty member in the appropriate department.
• Handles all academic advising issues, including student requests for change of major/minor/concentration, change of advisor, double major, dual degree, change of status.
• Handles leave of absence and official withdrawal from Fontbonne.

• Handles all undergraduate student issues and concerns, especially those dealing with exceptions such as:
  • Major degree modifications/waivers
  • Major approval
  • Permission for over 18 hours
  • Permission to take courses independently/independent study
  • Authorization to study at another institution
  • Documented exceptions to policies; e.g., late withdrawal from a course, medical withdrawals, and grade changes.
• Assists students with the grade appeal process.
