Business Administration for International Students (MBA) - Program Details
The Department of Business Administration of Fontbonne University provides an 11 month, 39 credit hour, intensive program leading to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). The program has a general management focus to provide graduates with a broad business perspective. This approach encourages individuals to realize the impact of their business decisions on the entire organization and its strategic implications.
The program consists of 4 terms plus a 3 week concentrated ESL (English as a Second Language) session at the beginning of the program and ESL throughout the remainder of the program. The program also provides several week long breaks that allow the students to travel throughout the United States, if they desire, to develop a better understanding of the U.S., its culture and practices.
The 2006/2007 program will be structured as follows*:
3 week concentrated ESL (classes will meet every week day for 3 weeks)- There will be a focus on the language skills that will enhance the student’s classroom experience such as listening and note taking skills.
Term I (each course meets 2 times each week for 9 weeks) : - BUS 562, Management of Information Technologies

- BUS 576, Organization Behavior & Human Resource Management
Term II (each course meets 2 times each week for 9 weeks):- BUS 570, Managerial Accounting
- BUS 572, Managerial Economics
- BUS 575, Seminar in Marketing Management
Term III (each course meets 2 times each week for 9 weeks):
- BUS 566, Operations Management
- BUS 571, Financial Management
- BUS 595, Applied Business Research Project Bus 571, Financial Management
Term IV (each course meets every day for 3 weeks):
- BUS 580, The Global Business Environment
- BUS 586, Social and Legal Environment of Business
- BUS 587, Ethical Responsibility in Business
- BUS 589, Seminar in Administrative Policy and Strategic Planning
Courses that meet throughout Terms I, II & III:
Students must have a minimum of one course in each of the following content areas (the Preparatory Core) within the last 4 years, subject to limited exceptions:
- Business Finance
- Financial Accounting
- Macroeconomics
In addition to the above described courses students must be proficient in Word and Excel, or an equivalent program. The decision as to what courses satisfy the Preparatory Core shall be made by the faculty and administration of the Department of Business Administration.
Program Fees for the 2006 to 2007 Program- Tuition for 13 MBA courses $22,160 USD (39 semester hours)*

*The above tuition does not include tuition for courses required under the Preparatory Core. The student will be charged the rate then in effect for such courses.
**Those student proficient in English may choose two to three additional MBA courses at the 594 level.
Students will be responsible for:- All housing

- Food
- Personal transportation needs
- Personal care items
- Textbooks
- Academic materials all other items not listed above as included in tuition.
The University will make arrangements for those students electing University housing.
Students who meet the proficiency standard in English at Fontbonne University will have the choice of taking 1, 2 or 3 additional MBA courses at the 594 level. These courses will cover current business topics that the Department of Business Administration believes will be of interest to international students and enhance their academic experience.
