Family and Consumer Sciences (MA)

People are busier than ever - working, going to school, retraining for new careers - the demands are many.  And technology continues to grow, presenting us with new opportunities while raising new challenges and ethical questions. So who will teach the next generation the fundamental skills required to manage their lives and to assist the rest of us in making choices that enhance our quality of life?

Fontbonne University Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) graduates provide leadership and advocacy to empower individuals, strengthen families and develope communities. Our unique graduate program - the only one of its kind in Missouri - has earned an outstanding reputation for exellence.  Classes are small and offer high levels of engagements with both the content of the class and faculty members. Professors are knowledgeable, supportive and committed to your success.

Our FACS faculty continues to work with students in classrooms and community programs sharing effective models for curriculum design and development and teaching strategies that will prepare you to excel, inspire and motivate students, consumers and clients.

Educators who secure a master's degree enhance their professional development by adding expertise and relevance to their educational practices. For those working in school settings, the degree will also help you more up the salary schedule. And others may wish to use the master's program to add to their foundation for their terminal degree. There is a growing shortage and demand for college and university professors in FACS and other related areas.
