Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication

Eckelkamp College of Global BusinessThe B.A. in Corporate Communication is a broad-based, multidisciplinary degree program combining business with a wide variety of communication courses. The program establishes a solid foundation related to how businesses communicate internally between people and departments, as well as externally with stakeholders, the public, and other key audiences. Students will be exposed to different communication tools, processes, and strategies within the organizational setting and learn to utilize them appropriately. Writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills are emphasized throughout the curriculum to develop skillful communicators who are highly regarded in the workplace. Whether you're interested in becoming a communications professional or a more effective communicator, this degree will provide the knowledge and skills to help you become a more capable manager and leader.

The courses in the B.A. in Corporate Communication constitute the student's business major. Completion of this major fulfills approximately one-third of the 128 credits required for graduation. All courses listed below are 3 credits / 8 weeks.

A concentration for this major will be available Fall 2011 in marketing.

Admission requirements:

  • Official transcripts must be received from each institution.
  • Completion of Composition I and II (grade of C- or better).
  • Successful completion of INT199 (or an equivalent college level course in research tools).
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4-point scale. (For students with fewer than 15 transfer college credits an official high school transcript is required with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or minimum GED score of 2350.)
  • Minimum age of 23 years.
  • Minimum two years of significant, full-time work experience.
  • Two letters of recommendation from professional references.
  • Applicants whose native language is not English must pass the TOEFL with a score of 173 CBT / 61 IBT / 5.0 IELTS or a Fontbonne-authorized equivalent test.
