  • What are the OPTIONS office hours?
9:30am-6:00pm Mon.-Thurs. and 8:00am-4:30pm Fri. (Clayton Campus only)

4:00 pm-6:15 pm Mon.-Thurs. (South County & North County Campuses only)

  • How can I contact my instructor? Contact your advisor to get your instructor's information.
  • What programs have pre-requisites? The pre-requisite for the BOS program is Psychology or Sociology. The pre-requisite for the BBA program is Intermediate Algebra or Topics in Algebra for Statistics. The preparatory core courses for the MBA program are Financial Accounting, Macroeconomics, and Business Finance. The letter of admittance identifies if a pre-requisite or preparatory course is needed. For a schedule and registration materials, contact your advisor.
  • How many people do I have to have in my study team? Study teams must have three (3) to five (5) members at all times.
  • What is the OPTIONS attendance policy? Any student who misses more than 50% of class meetings or 50% of the study team meetings for a course will receive a failing grade (F) in that course.
  • How will I know if classes are cancelled due to inclement weather? The decision for cancellation of OPTIONS classes will be made by 2:30 p.m. Please call the Snow Hotline at (314) 719-3682. Cancellation of OPTIONS classes will not be broadcast on TV or radio. All missed classes must be re-scheduled.
  • When are grades posted? Instructors have 10 days to submit grades. Academic Student Service personnel have another 10 days to process grades. Grades are entered every Thursday late afternoon. Grades are available on the Fontbonne website for viewing and printing.
  • Can OPTIONS staff tell me my grade? No. You have to ask the instructor or wait for grades to be posted on the web.
  • What's my web password? Call the Data Entry Coordinator at (314) 889-4582.
  • I lost my student ID. How can I get another one? Call the Data Entry Coordinator at (314) 889-4582 to make an appointment to have your picture re-taken. There is a $10 replacement charge.
  • How can I fulfill graduation requirements? There are a variety of ways that undergraduate students can fulfill graduation requirements including supplemental courses at Fontbonne University, Gateway courses, online courses, CLEP, correspondence courses, proficiency exams, military training, professional training, portfolios, and courses at the community college or other universities. Please contact your advisor to discuss scheduling options and complete the appropriate paperwork.
  • How can I register for supplemental and weekend courses at Fontbonne University? Course schedules, Fact Sheets, Gateway schedules and special flyers will be distributed to all OPTIONS undergraduate students.Contact your academic advisor for registration materials.
  • What do I need to do to take a course at another institution? Contact your academic advisor to complete a Course Authorization form. This form guarantees that the course will be accepted at Fontbonne and states if the course satisfies a general education requirement or an elective.
  • As an undergraduate student working toward my degree, what type of courses should I take to meet my elective requirements? Elective credits allow students the flexibility to choose courses of special interest to them. Courses may not duplicate a previous course or an upcoming core course. Developmental courses will not be accepted as elective credits.
  • What is the maximum number of credit hours I can transfer to Fontbonne from a community college (two-year institution)? Fontbonne accepts up to 64 credit hours to be transferred from a community college.
  • When is graduation? To be eligible for graduation, a student must complete an application form, pay the graduation fee, and meet all graduationrequirements.Fontbonne posts degrees on a student transcript five times a year (see below). Fontbonne celebrates two commencement ceremonies, one in December and the other in May. Diplomas are issued three times a year: December, May, and August. All graduates are encouraged to participate in a commencement ceremony.
  • What are the deadlines for transcripts from another institution I need to follow for degree posting? The following deadlines for all transcripts from another institutions and all prior learning assessment credit must be met:

October 31 posting October 15

December posting November 15

March 31 posting March 15

May posting April 15

August 15 posting August 1

  • What are the minimum grade point average requirements in the OPTIONS programs? GWYstudents must maintain a 2.0 cum. GPA;undergraduate students must maintain a 2.5 cum. GPA in the core courses; MGT/MBA students must maintain a 3.0 cum. GPA.If you earn an "unacceptable" grade for any core course, you will receive a letter the week after grades are posted stating the consequences and the necessary action. For example, if you earn an F in a core course, you will receive a letter stating that you must repeat this course.
  • What services, besides academics, are offered to OPTIONS students? Career services including preparation for interviews, resume advice, and self-assessment inventories are available to all OPTIONS students.
