Why Business Administration with Fontbonne?
Through Fontbonne’s Eckelkamp College of Global Business and Professional Studies, we’ll help you find a path that suits you best. We combine a strong liberal arts education with excellent concentrations in accounting, finance, management and marketing. That means we help you think globally by looking at issues that go beyond typical business principles.
What are the core values businesses should be concerned with in today’s world? How does a company balance its responsibilities to shareholders, to society, to the environment? How can a business be equally welcoming to workers of all backgrounds, ages and capabilities? You’ll explore those issues and more in our program.
At Fontbonne, our classes are challenging and stimulating. Course work involves case studies and real world, up-to-date analysis of business issues. With a small student-to-teacher ratio, there’s plenty of time for questions and interaction. Our faculty has the experience and expertise to offer excellent instruction in a highly supportive environment. You’re encouraged to seek out your professors to discuss course work, career aspirations or guidance.
Our business department will also help you establish a practicum or internship where you can apply classroom knowledge in professional settings, make professional contacts and gain valuable work experience. Companies and organizations with whom students have completed internships include Best Buy, the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Boeing, U.S. Bancorp, Anheuser-Busch, Bogey Hill Country Club, Walt Disney World, Merrill Lynch, Maritz and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
What Can I Do with My Degree?
Your interest in business can take you in many different directions, from finance or accounting, to advertising, to medicine or law, to management, to human resources. Maybe you want to run a restaurant or be a loan officer or tax specialist. Or maybe you’ve got the entrepreneurial spirit.
Where you go with a business degree will depend on your versatility, creativity, flexibility and ability to communicate. Our graduates can begin their careers confident that they’ve received an excellent business background coupled with a worldview that employers seek.
The College of Global Business and Professional Studies also offers a bachelor’s degree in sports management and a minor in business administration. And, for those interested in graduate work, we offer various master’s degree programs and certificate programs.
