Event Update: Advance Screening of I Came to Testify

Pamela Hogan and Peggy Kuo will participate in a public discussion of the film I Came to Testify immediately following the advance screening at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25, in the Lewis Auditorium, lower level of the Jack C. Taylor Library at Fontbonne University.  This event is free and open to the public.

Pamela Hogan is the producer and director of I Came to Testify.  Over the past eight years, she has been instrumental in making the PBS documentary series Wide Angle a leader in the coverage of women’s international issues. A founding member of Wide Angle, Hogan has helped to produce such films as Time for School, which focuses on the global children’s education crisis, and the Emmy Award-winning Ladies First, which examines women leaders in Rwanda a decade after the 1994 genocide.

Peggy Kuo is featured prominently in I Came to Testify.  Between 1998 and 2002, she served as a prosecuting trial attorney for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, conducting Prosecutor V. Kunarac et al. (mass rape in the Bosnian city of Foca) and Prosecutor v. Krnojelac (murder and torture of Bosnians held prisoner).  She also helped to prosecute Slobodan Milosevic.  Ms. Kuo has served as Acting Deputy Chief of the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division Criminal Section and Chief Hearing Officer at the New York Stock Exchange.

I Came to Testify will premier on PBS stations throughout the U.S. on October 11, 2011. Check local listings for times.
