Where am I?

Pre-Law/Social Science Degree

If you have the required academic background and a real interest in law, the social science/pre-law program is for you. Attorneys must be knowledgeable and sensitive to all types of people, information and situations. A balanced and broad liberal arts and social science foundation is essential for the rigors of law school and beyond.

This specialized major helps students develop the communication skills essential for teamwork, presenting a case, and writing or negotiating legal documents. Students graduate with a critical understanding of the values with which the law deals, the nature of human beings and the physical universe, the social, economic and political structures of society, and the cultural heritage of Western society. And, like all Fontbonne students, social science/pre-law majors gain skills in reasoning, analysis and synthesis.

This major will provide you with the academic skills necessary for law school as well as a wide variety of careers in the professional or academic world.
