Where am I?
Social Work
Fontbonne University’s department of social work, new in 2010, offers a variety of avenues for students to earn a degree in the field. The university’s new bachelor’s in social work (BSW) was developed using the very latest methods, theory and information available. Our partnerships with the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University and the Bridge Program with the St. Louis University School of Social Work offer students the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree from Fontbonne and a master’s degree in social work with only one additional year of study.
Department News: Tamitha Price Awarded Excellence in Teaching
Tamitha Price, part-time adjunct professor in the department of social work, received Fontbonne's Excellence in Teaching Award for Part-time Faculty.
In addition to being an adjunct, Price is the executive director for the Missouri chapter of the National Association of Social Work. She started teaching at Fontbonne when Sharon Jackson, now head of the university’s social work program, consulted with her about creating the social work major.
“I’m very grateful that Fontbonne has developed such a strong social work program,” Price said. “Because of that, our students will do so much good in our community. I’m honored to be even one small piece of that pie.”
