Now more than ever, an understanding of science and technology is important to navigating the world in which we live.

A biology degree at Fontbonne offers students a core curriculum of basic biology, chemistry and physics that provides a foundation in science. And we offer a choice of two concentrations. Students interested in health and human function can concentrate in physiology, while those more inclined to laboratory research can concentrate in biotechnology. You may even choose to study both.

Our classes and labs are small, offering students a chance to get to know their professors and classmates. Our faculty are available to help when you need it, and we have an active student organization. Recent graduates of the biology department can be found working in the biotech industry doing medical, pharmaceutical, and genetic-engineering research; teaching in high school; and furthering their education in either graduate, veterinary, medical or dental schools.
