Application Process
UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATION PROCESS
Transfer students are valued at Fontbonne University!
Fontbonne welcomes and values transfer students from a wide variety of backgrounds, from two-year and four-year, public and private colleges and universities. Our goal is to make the transfer process easy and convenient for you. Students coming from a community college may transfer a maximum of 64 credit hours to Fontbonne University.
When to Apply:
Transfer applicants should begin application process at least one month prior to final registration for the term in which they seek admission. For an example, if you plan to apply for the Fall semester, you should submit your application in January or February. If you plan to apply for the Spring, submit your application by September or October. We encourage you to apply early especially if you are considering applying for financial aid or a scholarship.
Candidates will receive an official transcript evaluation of transfer credit following acceptance. All accepted candidates currently enrolled elsewhere in college-level course must successfully complete all work in progress and submit an official college transcript showing additional courses completed.
To Apply:
- Complete the online application ($25.00 fee is waived)
- Have official transcripts from each college, university or post-secondary school you have attended mailed directly to the Office of Admission. (Transcripts issued directly to the student will not be accepted).
- If you have less than 30 transfer credits, please request an official high school transcript
- If you plan to pursue a major leading to teacher certification in the state of Missouri, you must submit an official copy of your scores on either the ACT or SAT test.
Financial Aid Process:
- After January 1, fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid if you plan to receive Financial Aid. (For Missouri residents, our deadline is March 31).
- Add Fontbonne’s school code – 002464.
- The Financial Aid Office processes financial aid for all transfer students. You are assigned a financial aid counselor that will work with you personally.
- After all documentation is received a financial aid estimate will be submitted to you.
Scholarship Process:
Scholarships are awarded to transfer students based on their prior academic performance or if you have demonstrated leadership abilities in the community, school, etc. A self-statement demonstrating your academic achievement, talent and/or leadership potential is required. If you plan to major in Art, Performing Art, Math/Computer Science or English, you will be required to present a portfolio, an audition or interview. Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission for further information.
Registration:
Spring – Classes start in January - Early registration begins in early November
Fall –Classes start in August - Early registration begins in mid-March
Registration Process:
- Registration reservations are made online.
- You will have the opportunity to meet with a professor in your major related area.
- Your registration confirmation will be sent to you via email or direct mail.
