Meet the Men's Cross Country Coach

Dave Almany enters his second season as the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach during the 2006-07 season.

Coach Almany is an Honors graduate of Central Methodist University. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Central Methodist. Coach Almany has also earned a Masters degree in Education from Truman State University and a Specialist in Education degree from Missouri State University.

Prior to coming to Fontbonne, Coach Almany has spent more than 26 years in public education with stops in Sullivan, MO; Monroe City, MO; El Dorado, KS; Licking, MO; and Pocahontas, Arkansas. During that time, Coach Almany has served as a classroom teacher, athletic director, principal, basketball coach, cross country and track coach. Coach Almany’s teams have numerous conference, district and state honors. Most recently, Coach Almany led the Licking High School girls cross country team to three district titles and six conference championships. He led the Licking boys team to four consecutive district titles, six straight conference championships, the 2002 Missouri State Championship and a fourth place finish in state in 2003.
