Head Coach - Nick Silva

Nick Silva is in his second year as Fontbonne's Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. In his first season at Fontbonne, Silva led the team to a 3-6 record. Coach Silva comes to Fontbonne from Lindenwood University where he served as an assistant coach and helped guide Lindenwood to an appearance in the National Tournament. Coach Silva also earned his master's degree from Lindenwood. In addition to coaching at Lindenwood, he has also coached at numerous summer camps both locally and on the East Coast.

During his playing career at NCAA Division 1 Manhattan College in New York, NY, Silva was a 4-time All-Conference selection, his conference's Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, a two-time team captain, and also a 2003 pre-season All-American.

In addition to coaching at Fontbonne, Silva is also the director of Stickhead Lacrosse leagues and camps. He is a native of St. Louis and graduated from Parkway West High School. Coach Silva also serves as an admission representative at Fontbonne and assistant women's soccer coach.

Assistant Coach- Ryan Carter

Ryan Carter is a native of Holt, MI, Coach Carter played four years of Division 1 lacrosse at Butler University in Indianapolis. Coach Carter was a 4 year letter winner for the Bulldogs and was also a 4 year member of the Dean’s List.Prior to moving to St. Louis, Ryan played three years in the Ontario Lacrosse Association for the Toronto Beaches and the St. Clair Storm. In addition to the U.S. and Canada, Ryan has played competitive lacrosse in England, Germany, The Netherlands, and the Czech Republic. Coach Carter began his coaching career by directing summer camps for Ante-Up Lacrosse, and coaching at St. Louis University High School.Coach Carter also works for PepsiCo Foodservice.He will be working primarily with the offense.

Assistant Coach - Brandon Schwind

Brandon Schwind is a native of Columbus, OH Brandon Schwind will be helping the Griffins as a graduate assistant. Coach Schwind comes to Fontbonne having played four years of lacrosse at Wittenberg University (Div. III). As a player, Schwind, was a four year starter at close defense for the Tigers. In 2006, he was voted Team Defensive Most Valuable Player and was nominated for Male Athlete of the Year. He served as team captain his senior year in 2007. Noteworthy, in his career, Schwind was selected to three NCAC All Conference Teams and scored a total of 24 points (20 g, 4 a) as a defensemen for the Tigers in his four year tenure. Coach Schwind is currently working towards his Master’s degree in Teaching from Fontbonne.Coach Schwind will be working primarily with the defense.

Assistant Coach - Mike Silva

Mike Silva is a native of St. Louis, Mike Silva will be helping the Griffins as a volunteer student assistant.Coach Silva started in goal for the first NCAA game in program history for the Griffins against Ohio Wesleyan on February 23^rd, 2007.Prior to his playing days at Fontbonne Silva went to 2 MCLA national tournaments with Lindenwood University.Coach Silva also assists with the Clayton High School lacrosse club.Coach Silva is currently working towards completing his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management at Fontbonne.
