Men's Soccer hopes to continue SLIAC success
Sept. 30 - The Fontbonne University men's soccer team struggled through a tough non-conference schedule but is starting to come into their own as they head into conferencec action. The men's soccer team has gone 41-7-4 in the SLIAC in the last five years and head coach Brian Hoener hopes that trend continues this year. Highlights include:
- SLIAC Conference Championships in 1991,1992, 2003, 2004 and 2007
- Four SLIAC Tournament Championships (1991, 1992, 2004 and 2006).
- Five trips to the NCAA Division III National Soccer Tournament (1991, 1992, 2003, 2004 and 2006).
- SLIAC record for most league/tournament wins in a season by finishing 16-0 in 2004.
- In recent years, the men’s soccer team has traveled to San Francisco, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, Memphis, Clearwater and Colorado Springs.
- Since 1990, Fontbonne has had more than 70 SLIAC All-Conference selections and several NSCAA Addidas All-Midwest Region selections.
