Team History:

The women’s basketball program is one of the athletic department’s most successful sports, and, since 1990, has won more SLIAC basketball games than any other school in the conference (nearly 75 percent). The program boasts six conference championships, two SLIAC Tournament Championships and three appearances in the NCAA Division III National Basketball Tournament. In 2001, the Lady Griffins advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the National Tournament. The team plays in the DSAC.

Highlights include:

SLIAC Conference Champions in 1991-92, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2000-01, 2002-03.
SLIAC Tournament Champions in 1998 and 1999.
SLIAC records for most conference titles (six) and most league/tournament wins in a season (17).
Appearances in the NCAA Division III National Basketball Tournament in 2000, 2001 and 2003.
Recent trips include Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Tampa, Chicago, Anaheim and Long Beach.
More than 45 SLIAC All-Conference selections and three Division III News All-American selections since 1990.
