Season Preview

The Fontbonne University women's basketball team returns four of its top five scorers from last year's team. The Griffins finished 13-14 overall last year with a 11-5 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) record. Fontbonne took second place in the SLIAC and lost in the SLIAC Tournament championship game. Fontbonne returns starting guards Calli Collier and Kaitlin Bramel, forward Kendra Schilli and center Mallowy Ludwig from that team.

Collier averaged nearly 13 points a game last season while earning SLIAC Honorable Mention All-Confernce and SLIAC All-Tournament honors. Bramel averaged almost nine points a game while earning SLIAC All-Defensive Team honors. Ludwig averaged nine points and six rebounds while earning SLIAC All-Tournament honors. Schilli lead the team in rebounding and steals while averaging eight points a game. Fontbonne expects to get immediate contributions from transfers forward Erika April and guard Rana Boyd as well as freshman guard Ava Johnson.
