Women's Field Hockey is the newest sport Fontbonne University has added to its athletic department. Earlier this year, the athletic department announced it would sponsor an NCAA sanctioned women's field hockey team beginning in 2008-09. The team will serve as an NCAA Division III independent team and be the only NCAA Division III team in Missouri. The team will play their games at the newely renovated Gay Field in Clayton, Missouri. Gay Field recently received brand new field turf, lights and is accompanied by a large grandstand and press box. The University is actively recruiting potential student-athletes for the 2008-09 season as well as developing a schedule.
