Fontbonne University students interested in a career in services to children are eligible to join the Future Teachers Association. This organization is a cooperative involvement of the student branches of the Council for Exceptional Children, the International Reading Association, Pi Lamda Theta, and the National Education Association. Membership in FTA provides the opportunity to meet and participate with other students who have similar interests, to work with children in planned activities, to provide services to the University and the greater community, and to demonstrate their commitment and involvement to working with children.

The Fontbonne Future Teachers Association plans and carries out a number of activities during each academic year for its membership. These involve holiday parties for children with disabilities, a book fair, a professional development workshop, and campus social events.
