Fontbonne University recently celebrated the grand re-opening of the café and study area in the Dunham Student Activity Center on its Clayton campus.
The second floor of the student center underwent a $1.35 million renovation this summer. In addition to a new café that serves a variety of sandwiches, salads, pizza, desserts and Starbucks coffee, students now enjoy a game room, stone fireplace and outdoor second story patio.
At the celebration, students, staff and faculty enjoyed a dedication ceremony, live music, games and a free lunch. Fontbonne Board of Trustees Chair Daniel J. Ferry Jr., and Darryl Jones, member of the board of trustees and chair of the facilities committee, were in attendance as was Clayton Mayor Benjamin Uchitelle.
"This new space provides a comfortable place for the entire Fontbonne community to eat, study, socialize and relax," said Dr. Dennis Golden, president of Fontbonne. "We are proud to be able to meet the changing needs of our students, faculty and staff."
The Dunham Student Center also houses a gymnasium, fitness center, aerobic room, locker rooms and Athletics offices.
