New Major Gifts Officer Named
"Ms. Barnes is an experienced professional who brings tremendous energy and creativity to this position," said Dr. William Rothwell, vice president for institutional advancement and development at Fontbonne. "Her extensive expertise in the areas of stewardship and major gifts fund raising will help the university immensely as we look to strengthen our viability in performing our educational mission."
Barnes will be responsible for major gifts solicitations of individuals, corporations and foundations in amounts of $25,000 and over. She will also manage a portfolio of selected prospective donors and be involved in other fund-raising activities.
"I'm honored and privileged to be a part of the Fontbonne family. I look forward to this exciting new position and being a part of the development team," Barnes said.
Barnes has previously served as director of stewardship and development director at St. Louis University, where she also oversaw the University Scholarship Program, The DuBourg Society and The Women's Council. She will have similar responsibilities at Fontbonne University.
Barnes earned a bachelor's degree in communication from St. Louis University and resides in Brentwood.
