President of Schnuck's Shares Business Insight with Students

Scott C. Schnuck, chairman and CEO of Schnuck Markets, Inc., discussed his family's supermarket business with Fontbonne University students as part of the university's Business Department Speaker Series.

Schnuck shared the story of how the St. Louis family's small business turned into a successful chain of 90 supermarkets throughout the Midwest.

"It was a thrill to have Mr. Schnuck on campus to share his knowledge and expertise with our students. It helps them get a real-world perspective of business," said faculty member Don Shifter, the speaker series advisor.

After earning an MBA from Stanford University, Schnuck joined Schnuck Markets, Inc. in 1975. He is a pioneer of the category management system, now widely used in the industry.
