The faculty and staff of Fontbonne University were recognized recently after they achieved 100 percent participation in the school’s new comprehensive campaign. All 263 full-time employees contributed a total of $376,273 to the $20 million, five-year initiative undertaken earlier this year.
The “Now … More Than Ever” comprehensive campaign is the largest in Fontbonne’s history. Money raised will be designated for academic programs, student scholarships, endowments, athletics, major building renovations and numerous infrastructure improvements.
“I am extremely proud of our faculty and staff,” said Dennis Golden, Fontbonne’s president. “This is an outstanding demonstration of their commitment to Fontbonne’s mission and our aspirations for the future. It’s a perfect beginning to this major and transformative campaign.”
The campaign is in its early stages, and the university will be launching broader fund-raising activities in the future, according to Marilyn Sheperd, Fontbonne’s newly-appointed vice president for institutional advancement.
“This is a truly an extraordinary accomplishment by any standard,” Sheperd said. “The dedication and support shown by our faculty and staff is an excellent example we can be proud of when we reach out to the greater community.”
