Mustard Seed Theatre will present "Remnant" by Ron Reed Nov. 16 - Dec. 2 at the Fontbonne University Black Box Theatre. Reed will attend the opening night performance Nov. 16 and participate in a post-show discussion with the cast and audience.
"Remnant" is set in a post-apocalyptic era in which humanity has practically become extinct. A family struggles to celebrate a vaguely-remembered tradition known only as the "Christ-mass" when the unexpected arrival of a stranger brings into focus both old and new traditions, sacrifice and forgiveness. The play is directed by Mustard Seed Artistic Director and Fontbonne's Director of Theater Deanna Jent.
Working in residence at Fontbonne University, Mustard Seed Theatre is designed to explore our relationship with God and our ethical responsibility to the world. The company's debut 2007-08 season includes two fully-staged productions and the Dijon Discussion Series of staged readings designed to plant questions and cultivate dialogue.
Show times are Thurs.-Sat. at 8 p.m. and Sun. at 2 p.m. with an additional performance on Sun., Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. Thursday performances are "Pay What You Can or Pay With a Can" with non-perishable food items benefiting St. Louis food pantries. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for
