ST. LOUIS, Mo., Feb. 13, 2008 – Mustard Seed Theatre, the in-residence professional theatre company at Fontbonne University, will be presenting its second provocative staged reading in its Dijon Discussion Series, THE UNSEEN by Craig Wright, Feb. 23 – 25.
Mercilessly tortured for 11 years for unknown crimes, two prisoners, Wallace and Valdez, have little hope for release. Each has a theory about the reasons for his imprisonment and each harbors ideas of escape. The arrival of an “unseen” prisoner who communicates only in code, and the anger of a sadistic prison guard, leads to the true nature of their salvation and a horrifying surprise.
A popular contemporary playwright, Craig Wright is also head writer on ABC’s hit “Dirty Sexy Money” and has received critical acclaim for his work on episodes of “Lost” and “Brothers and Sisters.” He was also nominated for an Emmy as a writer for HBO’s “Six Feet Under.”
Directed by MST Artistic Director and Fontbonne performing arts professor Deanna Jent and featuring Gary Glasgow, Christopher Hickey and B. Weller, THE UNSEEN will be performed as a staged reading at the Fontbonne University Black Box Theatre, 6800 Wydown Blvd. in Clayton, on Saturday, Feb. 23, and Monday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and reservations are recommended by calling 314.719.8060 or by visiting MustardSeedTheatre.com.
