Jane Butel, southwest cooking enthusiast and author of over 15 cookbooks, will discuss her new book, “Chili Madness: A Passionate Cookbook,” during the January Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club. Just in time for playoff, championship and Super Bowl parties, the book club will take place on Jan. 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the Drury Inn and Suites’ Muny Room at the corner of Hampton Ave. and Highway 44.

An internationally recognized authority on the regional cooking of the American Southwest, Jane Butel published her first cookbook on New Mexican and American Mexican food in the 1960's. Later, she founded Pecos Valley Spice Co., developed Jane Butel’s Southwestern Cooking School, and manages the Cooking with Jane Online Cooking Club. Her new book, “Chili Madness: A Passionate Cookbook,” presents more than 130 new chili recipes for everything from appetizers to deserts.
