ST. LOUIS - A dedication ceremony on April 30 christened the most recent expansion of Fontbonne University - a 34,000-square-foot facility located in Brentwood. Primarily designed to house OPTIONS, the university's program for adult learners, the new space is home to 10 additional classrooms, 50 percent more administrative space and 390 current students.
"Our OPTIONS program is well known for quality, accessibility, affordability and convenience," said Dr. Dennis Golden, Fontbonne president. "This new facility provides the community with another excellent academic location in a growing entrepreneurial environment. It also signals our commitment to continuous growth and development."
The ceremony on April 30 gave students, faculty, staff, elected officials, civic leaders and prospective students an opportunity to explore the new facility. In addition to classrooms and administrative space, it also provides new studios for fine arts graduate students, a performing arts rehearsal room and a state-of-the-art computer lab.
University officials and local dignitaries were on hand to answer questions and also participated in a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The ceremony also showcased Fontbonne's new College of Global Business and Professional Studies, the university's first of three planned colleges. It encompasses all undergraduate and graduate business programs, including OPTIONS.
The new facility is located at 1300 Strassner Drive off Hanley Road just south of Highway 40. OPTIONS still offers classes at Fontbonne's Clayton campus and four other locations around the metro area.
