Fontbonne Announces Public Phase of Campaign
Saint Louis, MO - Fontbonne University officially announced the public phase of a $20 million comprehensive campaign titled Now... More Than Ever. The university has already raised more than $16 million but is appealing for continued support from alumni, staff, faculty, businesses and the general public to help the institution reach its goal.
Nearly 85 percent of Fontbonne graduates live or work in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. The university hopes that because of the role it plays in the community, local donors will understand the value of supporting its mission.
"We've already seen amazing support from the corporate community as well as individual donors," said Marilyn Sheperd, Fontbonne's vice president for institutional advancement. "Their gifts are a vote of confidence in what we are doing here at Fontbonne. They signal to alumni and other friends of the university that Fontbonne is worthy of their support and that our future is bright."
The funding resulting from the campaign is allocated for numerous campus upgrades, including a $14 million renovation of the university's science building - currently slated for the fall. Other plans include an advanced business conference room and student library, new laboratories and classrooms for the human environmental science department, a glass-encased stairway tower, a new student lounge and a new greenhouse.
