ST. LOUIS - Fontbonne University Theatre will present TAPE, a play written by Stephen Belber, at Fontbonne University's Black Box Theatre from Thursday, Sept. 17, through Sunday, Sept. 20.
Jon, an aspiring filmmaker on the verge of hitting it big, hooks up for the weekend with his best friend from high school, Vince, a volunteer fireman who makes his money selling dope. Over the course of the evening, Vince finally gets Jon to admit that 10 years ago he date raped Amy Randall, a girl whom they both dated in high school - only then to reveal that he has taped their entire conversation. And not only that, he's invited Amy to have dinner with them that night. Beneath its suspenseful, high-stakes surface, TAPE examines questions of motive, memory, truth and perception.
The cast for TAPE includes David Chandler, Phillip Bettison, and Adrienne Curry. The production is directed by Melinda Calvert.
Performances of TAPE will take place Sept. 17 - 19 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Fontbonne University Black Box Theatre in the Fine Arts Building at 6800 Wydown Blvd., St. Louis. Admission is $5 for students and $10 for general seating. For ticket information, call the Fontbonne University box office at 314-889-1425.
