Artist Tower to Lecture on Campus

The Fontbonne University fine arts department welcomes artist Cindy Tower, Monday, Nov. 22, for a lecture on the role of community in art. The event will take place from 2 - 3 p.m. in the Lewis Room of the Jack C. Taylor LIbrary on Fontbonne's Clayton campus.

For her St. Louis tenure (2005-2010), Cindy Tower explored and painted sites of metro-area forgotten industry, including the Armour Packing Plant, the National City Stockyards and the Great Lakes Carbon Factory. At once, her paintings are accessible and conceptual as she mediates the site for an art audience in her plein air process. Now Cindy Tower returns to St. Louis and Fontbonne University to discuss the role of community in art.
