ST. LOUIS — The Fontbonne University women's softball team will play Washington University in the Pella, Iowa, Regional of the NCAA Division III National Softball Tournament. The #5 seeded Griffins will play the #4 seeded Bears on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the eight-team regional hosted by Central College.
This will be the third meeting between Fontbonne (29-8) and Washington University (30-9-1) this year, with the Bears holding a 2-1 advantage. This is Fontbonne's second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament while Washington University is making its 10th straight appearance.

The other regional games feature #1 seed Linfield College (41-2) taking on Anderson College (28-13), #3 seed Coe College (36-9) taking on #6 seed Wisconsin-Whitewater (26-10) and #2 seed Central College (35-7) playing #7 seed Benedictine University (37-6).
The Midwest Regional is a double elimination tournament with the winner advancing along with seven other regional winners to the Division III Softball Championship on May 20-24, at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va.
