Frank Viverito, President of the St. Louis Sports Commission, spoke to Fontbonne University students, faculty and staff on Wednesday, March 14. Through promoting their mission, “To make St. Louis a better place to live, visit, work and play through sports,” the Sports Commission has had a huge impact on St. Louis’ atmosphere and visibility. Viverito spoke about some of their major accomplishments such as bringing the Major League Baseball All-Star Game to St. Louis in 2009, and, more recently, the NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship in 2010 and 2011. Viverito stayed to answer several questions and interact with the students after his presentation.
