ST. LOUIS – Busy
professionals have a new opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree while
working and balancing family life and other responsibilities. Fontbonne
University has announced a new blended format through its OPTIONS program that combines
the benefits of face-to-face classroom instruction with the convenience of
online learning.
With this new format, courses
are designed so that half of the classes will be held in the classroom and half
will be conducted online. Currently, Fontbonne offers the blended format for
its bachelor’s degrees in business administration and human resource management.
“This can be a real
benefit to people who think they just don’t have time to finish their degree,”
said Vicki Saitz, Fontbonne director of OPTIONS admissions. “The in-class
experience gives students that dynamic and beneficial connection with teachers
and classmates, while the online classes allow students the flexibility and
convenience to plan around their schedule. This blended format, when coupled
with the instruction provided by our excellent faculty, promotes in our
students a higher level of critical thinking and analytical skills.”
The university also
offers bachelor’s degrees in corporate communication and sports and entertainment
management in the accelerated format for adult learners.
“All of our degree
programs provide graduates with very practical, relevant skills and knowledge,
and that’s key in advancing in your career,” Saitz said. “Studies have shown
that a bachelor’s degree significantly increases earnings over the course of a
lifetime.”
Fontbonne has a long
tradition of offering accelerated bachelor’s and master’s programs for busy
adults. Courses are eight weeks long, and students can take one or two courses
at a time. In addition to Fontbonne’s Brentwood location at 1300 Strassner
Drive, classes are offered at the main campus in Clayton and in south St. Louis
County.
