Ridley Pearson is the author of more than 40 novels including the bestselling Lou Boldt crime series. Pearson lives in Town & Country, Mo., but most recently spent a year in Shanghai, where his newest novel, “The Risk Agent,” takes place. While working for a large American company with operations in Shanghai, “Edward” Lu Hao goes missing along with his security guard and his bookkeeping filled with bribes. John Knox, an import/export entrepreneur with connections to the company and forensic accountant Grace Chu, who helped Hao get his job, are hired to find the men and the money before it’s too late.
