According to the AIER website, the organization used the most current data from notable sources such as the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and several more to determine the top college cities and towns. AIER researchers considered the academic and cultural environment, the quality of life and employment opportunities in the area.
