"Falling" Up for Drama Awards

More than a year after her original play, "Falling," ran in Fontbonne University's Black Box Theatre, professor Deanna Jent continues to receive accolades for her work. This month, "Falling" was nominated for a Drama Desk award in the category of outstanding play.

Formed in 1949, the Drama Desk Awards honor Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway performances and plays, using the same criteria to assess all three categories.

"Falling" was so successful during its original run with Mustard Seed Theatre here in St. Louis that it was optioned for Off-Broadway during the fall of 2012. It played in the Minetta Lane Theatre in New York from October through December.

This coming season, the play will be revived in St. Louis, and audiences can experience the performance with its original Mustard Seed cast April 4-27, 2014.
