In a recent study, the Centers for Disease Control concluded that one in every 50 American children are on the autism spectrum – a large increase from last year’s finding of 1 in 88. To meet the needs of this continually growing population, Fontbonne University offers two options for those interested in entering or increasing their expertise in the field of autism education: The Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders and the Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The certificate program is comprised of five, three-credit hour specialized ASD courses, and the master’s degree requires a combination of courses including core education classes, electives and specialized ASD courses that total 32 credit hours.
