On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the Fontbonne University women's golf team participated in the Oakland City Invitational at Country Oaks Golf Club in Montgomery, Ind., where they finished in fourth place. The team broke the school record for lowest team total in a tournament by firing a score of 351.
Freshman Gina Falvey finished the tournament in second place overall with a one-round score of 81, just two swings short of first place. Sophomore Kaylee Heulsing tallied a round of 84, landing her a seventh place finish. Heulsing's round of 84 is her lowest of the season. Fellow freshman, Ellen Lindner and Mary Seise both fired rounds of 93, – a season low for Seise – and tied for 19th place. Junior Natalie Heck shot 95 placing her tied for 25th.
The women's golf team will next be in action on Thursday, Oct. 10 versus Missouri Baptist University. The dual meet begins at 11 a.m. at Aberdeen Golf Course.
