Position is located in Fenton, MO

Full time position

Responsibilities include:
While serving as a mentor to other members of the development staff, incumbent will develop new code and maintain/enhance existing code on various applications using the Java development language and associated technologies while creating new and following established best practices. Work on all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including software design, development, and implementation.
Scope
Support multiple clients of various sizes across industry lines. Act as a point of contact for analyst staff. Provide mentoring and answer both business and technical questions from development staff..
Reporting and Working Relationships
Reports to a Manager of Technology Innovation with some possible team lead responsibilities.

Enhance and maintain existing application using Java programming language and Java best practices. Follow and enhance existing application framework object-oriented design and analysis methodologies. 50
Attend business and management meetings for strategic planning purposes. Communicate business requirements into technical plans for distribution throughout the team. 20
Provide mentoring and training to new and junior team members by teaching them new methodologies, including, but not limited to, UML and ORM. 20
Investigate methodologies and make business and technical decisions around product enhancements and direction of applications. 10

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Required. Computer Science Degree Preferred. Must have 3-5 years experience working with Java technology and following Java best practices. Experience leading projects or acting as mentor to technology team preferred. Must have knowledge of object oriented concepts. Experience working with relational database and SQL, SOA solutions, and presentation (GUI) technologies required. Must have the ability to make independent decisions and a strong desire to solve problems and see solutions through to completion. Experience working on agile development projects a plus. Must have strong mathematical skills, and experience creating and implementing various machine learning algorithms.
