Community Support Specialist

Adapt of Missouri is seeking a full time Community Support Specialist to provide recovery focused services and engagement to people with mental illness and substance abuse disorders. Responsibilities include: Working with a team to provide in-vivo, holistic services to clients with severe and persistent mental illness. Services are aimed towards supporting clients in successful community living and include housing acquisition, intensive case management, psychiatric rehabilitation, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, medication management, resource acquisition (vocational, educational, rental and utility assistance, substance abuse, medication), service coordination and development of a natural support system. The hours of employment are generally weekdays from 8:30 to 5:00, but may vary depending on clients' needs.
    
Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service/human service field or similar, two years of higher education with two years of experience in the mental health field, or four years experience in mental health field
    
*Candidates certified in nursing (LPN) and/or substance abuse treatment, and/or significant experience with vocational rehabilitation, housing, or financial resources will be considered first.
